The parents of Harrison Lovett, who collapsed whilst playing in his school’s football field in Portslade earlier this year, are aiming to raise awareness of the importance of learning the vital life saving skills after a teacher who took part a course just 24 hours earlier saved his life. It was later discovered he was suffering from an undiagnosed heart condition.
Christine Kidman, the school business manager, carried out cardiopulmonary resuscitation also known as CPR for 15 minutes before the arrival of medics. She had attended a first aid refresher course just a day previously.
Harrison has since made a promising recovery and his parents, Alex and Rachel Lovett, are now aiming to help to raise awareness of the importance of learning these vital skills. The two hour session included learning how to correctly use the recovery position and CPR.
